Taking a closer look at MD's Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge grant

Here at MarylandCAN, we know that low-income students are less likely to have the opportunity to attend high-quality early childhood programs, however low-income students need early schooling the most. Thankfully for our state and students, this past December, Maryland was awarded with a Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge (RTTT-ELC) grant, worth up to $50 million over four years, to improve quality of and access to early learning opportunities. Will we take the right actions with these funds, and will we do enough?
