President, Kids-R-VIPs Foundation

I believe that every family in Baltimore, regardless of economic status, should have access to a quality education for their children. Give a child a quality education and all of his or her future generations will not experience the hopelessness and struggles of living in poverty. The cycle will be broken. That means our educational system must be reformed—and not just because it is morally unacceptable to deny our poorest children the chance for a meaningful and successful life. Our country is simply not producing enough educated children to compete in today’s world. We cannot afford the loss of so many productive, creative people if we hope to maintain and improve the quality of life here in Maryland and our nation.
